View Risk Analysis Distribution Results

The distribution graph displays Remaining Cost, At-Completion Cost, Duration, Start Date, and Finish Date probabilities, as well as the Schedule & Cost Scatter Plot, for the entire project and individual activities.

To view risk analysis distribution results:

1. In the object selector, select Project, select View Projects List, and then select a project name.
2. From the Main Menu, select Risk, and then select Risk Analysis.
3. Select the Distribution Results tab.
4. (Optional) To display duration or cost as a different width on the graph, select the Bar Width in Chart Options.

   Note: Bar Width is not available on the Schedule & Cost tab.

5. (Optional) To view results data on the graph, select a project or individual activity in Select Results. A selected project or activity continues to display as you navigate to other tabs.

   Note: Available activity results are determined by your risk analysis settings.

6. If enabled, in the Response Context list, select an analysis context:
   • Pre-Response: Displays analysis results based on pre-response values.
   • Post-Response: Displays analysis results based on post-response values.
   • Pre- and Post-Response: Displays analysis results of both response contexts.

     Note: When viewing the Pre- and Post-Response context, the pre-response is displayed in front of post-response. Post-response bars may be hidden completely if the pre-response value is greater than the post-response value.

7. Use the tabs on the page to view Remaining Cost, At-Completion Cost, Duration, Start Date, Finish Date, and Schedule & Cost distributions. You can also view statistics and analysis settings on each tab.

Tips

• Hover over data points, bars, and indicator lines for more specific information.
• Horizontal lines on the graph align with the cumulative frequency.
• To group activities by project or WBS in the Select Results panel, select Group By.
• Collapse Chart Options to have more space to display activities in Select Results.
• To expand and collapse groups of activities in the Select Results panel, select the Context menu of the project or WBS.
• You can see the start date, end date, and duration of the most recently run risk analysis in the Risk Analysis Run Settings.
• The risk's Actual Cost Impact values are added to the Project At-Completion Cost, and are not included in the Remaining Cost.
• You can configure the date format to include time to see the exact start and end time of the risk analysis. See Configure the Date Format for more information.
