Add a Dependency to a Project
Identify relationships between projects using project dependencies. Dependencies are used in portfolio budget planning to ensure all dependent projects are included in a budget planning scenario. The project dependencies supported in the application are Depends On and Supports.
Depends On: A project depends on work being performed in another project. For example, Project A depends on some aspect of Project B and cannot be completed without that work being performed.
Supports: A project is supporting another project. For example, Project B is supporting Project A.
To add a dependency:
- In the object selector, select ﱆ Project.
- In the object selector, beside a project name, select , and then select View Summary & Settings
- On the Summary & Settings page, select Dependencies.
- Determine whether your project depends on another project or supports another project, and select Assign.
- In the Select Project dialog box, select a project, and select OK.
- Select Save.
You can also do this on the Projects page.
- In the object selector, select ﱆ Project, and then select View Projects List.
- In the table, select the project row, and then select the Dependencies detail window.
