Assign Permissions to a User Group on the User Groups Page

Permission sets determine the level of access to objects and functionality. Configure permission sets to grant user groups access to view or complete actions on a variety of objects.

To assign permissions sets to user groups:

1. From the Main Menu, select Global Admin.
2. Select User Groups from the list.
3. On the Permissions tab, assign permission sets to the user group from the various Permission Set fields:

   Note: Some permission sets may be required in order to assign access later.

   1. Select to open the Assign Permissions picker for each object.
   2. Select a permission set, and then select Show Details to preview its privilege details before making the assignment.
4. Select Save.

Note: Users will not be granted access to objects until their user group is assigned to an object.

Tips

• There are two permission sets provided by the application that you can assign to users and user groups:
  • The Administrator (System) permission set has all privileges assigned. It grants all functionality for an object as well as access to all of the object's data. It also grants the ability to edit the user and user group security for that object.
  • The View Only (System) permission set provides read-only access to objects and their data.
• The View Only (System) permission set for a project, portfolio, or program does not include access to cost or financial information.
