Add a Resource Planning Scenario
Create resource planning scenarios to determine the best group of projects to execute under resource constraints for a given planning period. One or more scenarios can be created to model the plan using different sets of criteria, enabling you to make more informed decisions.
To add a scenario:
- In the object selector, select Portfolio, and then select View Portfolios List.
- Select a portfolio name.
- From the Main Menu, select Resources, and then select Resource Planning.
- In the context bar, select the planning period menu, and select the planning year, which is either the current year or the subsequent year.
- Select the Actions menu, and then select Add Scenario.... If there are no existing scenarios, select the Add Scenario... button on the information screen.
- In the Add Scenario dialog box, enter a name for the scenario, and select Save.
Tips
- All new scenarios have a status of In Planning. The status cannot be changed manually.
- To rename, duplicate, hide, or delete the budget or resource planning scenario, select the Actions menu, and then select Scenario Options. You can also select Manage Scenarios... to open the Manage Scenarios dialog box. Use the dialog box to add, rename, duplicate, hide, or delete budget and resource planning scenarios.
- To delete a scenario, the scenario must have a status of In Planning.
